McAdoo Cumberland Presbyterian Church
McAdoo Cumberland Presbyterian Church is a small white-frame church sitting on three acres in the country. One hundred folks would fill our sanctuary. Our congregation is friendly, caring, and active. We love each other, we love our Pastor and his wife, and we have more love to give.
We have a fellowship hall with a large kitchen where we have enjoyed great food and fellowship over many years. Our church has four Sunday school rooms and a nursery. The sanctuary also serves as a classroom for our senior adults. We have recently added a beautiful outdoor pavilion.
A few of our ministries include:
Christmas Angels, Shoe Boxes for Christmas, Urban Ministries, Safe House, Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, American Bible Society.
We also work to provide for the FUEL Program for Local School Children, Food Boxes for the needy, Soldier's Boxes, Missionary Support, and CPWM Memberships.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ came and died for all, and that whosoever will accept Him as Savior can and will be saved. We believe anyone drawn by the Holy Spirit may ask Jesus Christ to forgive them of their sins, become saved, and go to heaven.
There are no eternal reprobates. In other words, no one is so sinful that they cannot be saved through faith in Jesus Christ. John 3:16
WE BELIEVE that the Holy Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, are given by inspiration of God and are the only infallible guide to faith and practice. II Timothy 3:16
WE BELIEVE that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
WE BELIEVE in the unity of the Trinity as expressed in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
God is our Creator and Caretaker; Jesus Christ is our divine Savior and Lord; and the Holy Spirit is God present and at work everywhere in creation.
WE BELIEVE in the preservation of the believer; that no one who is saved can “lose” his or her salvation. We believe once saved always saved. John 10:28
WE BELIEVE that Christ died not for part only, but for all mankind.
WE BELIEVE the Sacraments are celebrations of the covenant in which Christ mysteriously is present and active. We accept two Sacraments, Baptism and the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion. Through God's presence, work, and will, they are made effective. The elements of water, fruit of the vine, and bread are signs and symbols and remain what they are. The Sacraments are not essential to salvation but are necessary means of grace. The Sacraments are central to Christian worship.
All Christians may partake of the Lord's Supper wherever or whenever it is observed. I Corinthians 11:28
"'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments." Matthew 22:37-40
